HomeOwed

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 9, 2026

HomeOwed is provided by Rhodwell LLC. This policy describes information handled by the app and the choices available to you.

Information you enter

HomeOwed lets you create household helper profiles and record work, expenses, adjustments, payments, notes, and related activity. These records can contain personal and financial details that you choose to enter.

Local storage and iCloud sync

HomeOwed keeps its working ledger in a local SwiftData store on your device. If iCloud is available for your Apple Account and a sync succeeds, HomeOwed synchronizes a versioned ledger snapshot with that account’s private CloudKit database using Apple’s CloudKit service. In Release, the app attempts sync at launch and when it returns to the foreground; you can also use Settings → iCloud Sync → Sync Now. It is not a Rhodwell-hosted account service. Your on-device ledger remains available when iCloud or the network is unavailable. No HomeOwed account or login is required.

The app sends ledger snapshots to Apple CloudKit for this feature. The Build 3 implementation does not send ledger records to a Rhodwell-operated server and includes no staff-facing service for viewing those records. Apple provides and operates CloudKit; this description of the app’s data path does not make claims about information Apple may process under its own services and terms.

Backup, restore, and export

You can export a full HomeOwed backup as a JSON file through Apple’s system file workflow and save it where you choose. It includes helper profiles, ledger history, archive status, relationships, and selected app preferences. It does not include StoreKit purchase entitlements or biometric data. Restore validates the selected file, asks before replacing the current device ledger, and creates an on-device safety copy before switching. Restore and CloudKit conflict handling may leave safety-copy files in the app’s local Recovery storage; these copies remain with local app data until that data is removed.

CSV export is a separate HomeOwed Pro reporting feature. A CSV is not a complete or restorable backup. Files you export outside the app remain wherever you save or copy them, and you manage those copies separately.

Collection, advertising, and analytics

The app includes no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. HomeOwed has no Rhodwell-operated ledger backend in this implementation. Ledger snapshots are transmitted to Apple CloudKit only for the private iCloud sync described above. Purchases are handled by Apple through StoreKit.

Purchases and App Lock

In-app purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. HomeOwed does not receive your payment card details. If you enable App Lock, device-owner authentication is handled by Apple’s LocalAuthentication system; HomeOwed does not access or store biometric data.

Deletion and retention

You can edit records, archive helpers, and delete ledger entries in the app. Deleting an entry removes it from the local ledger and queues a deletion marker for the next successful CloudKit sync. Sync timing depends on iCloud and network availability, and this does not promise immediate removal from Apple’s service or define Apple’s retention practices. Removing HomeOwed may remove locally stored app data, including Recovery safety copies, but the app does not provide a full CloudKit purge control and removal does not itself guarantee deletion of the cloud snapshot. Exported files are not removed. Cloud data and account-level retention are subject to Apple’s iCloud services and your Apple Account.
